Motortrade Celebrating 40th Year

MCPF

From the humble beginnings in the small town of Daet, the pioneering family of the Ongtengcos, have widely grown into a formidable company called Motortrade. The gala event commemorated the 40th year of the business they have tediously and slowly cultivated. Truth be told, it was hard to fathom that Motortrade sold one motorbike per month in their start-up year. Today, this company, widely known in the motorcycle industry, will have notched an impressive target of one million units sold this year, 2009.

Thus, it was befitting of an event that the programme of the night included giving thanks to those who have made this achievement possible. Most riders came in early to get good seats at the Hrad Rock Café in Glorietta. Seats were quickly filled up as the event opened with a hearty & sumptuous dinner. The event was handled by Motorcycle Magazine and hosted by its editor-in-chief, Lester Dizon. It was followed by sincere speeches from different members of the Motortrade family and supporters.

But the fun never did stop there, raffle items were endless as the major bike suppliers each took turn in handing out winning prizes to ever eager and lucky winners. Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda & Kymco all showed their gratitude by donating one of their bike units to Motortrade. All the officers and presidents of these major suppliers were in full force as they enjoyed and cheered on the riders present in the event. MCX, on the other hand, gave the biggest raffle prize. A brand new MCX Raptor was awarded to a lucky guy!

Every good thing had to come to an end. All those instrumental to Motortrade’s success over the years were given plaques of appreciation. Of course, MCPF’s very own, Atoy Sta. Cruz, was also rightfully awarded. The night was young when people filed out to the exits. Each rider was given a fair chance of winning a raffle prize, but as life always is not fair, not all were winners. This, however, did not spoil the fun and everyone enjoyed as Motortrade rightfully gave something back to us. We will be forever be supportive of your esteemed institution. Cheers to more power and more successful years ahead!
